

What is Migraine?
Migraine is characterized by periodic headaches, typically unilateral, often associated with visual disturbance and vomiting.
Types of migraine –
- Classical Migraine – A classical migraine starts with the symptoms related to eyesight or related to the central nervous system with a headache.
- Common migraine – In common migraine headache, nausea, vomiting, and photophobia(a morbid fear of light or pain in the eye resulting from exposure to bright light) occur.
- Basilar migraine – It starts in the upper neck or back of the head and can radiate behind the eyes and over the scalp, preceded by vertigo, diplopia(two images of a single object), and dysarthria( speech sound disorder) with or without the symptoms related to eyesight and central nervous system.
- Hemiplegic migraine – prolonged headache lasting hours or days, followed by hemiparesis(weakness of one side of the body) which recovers slowly over days.
Ayurvedic treatment protocols for migraine

1. Nasya Karma – In Nasya karma, anti-migraine medicated oil is poured into both nostrils. It purifies and balances the enlarged doshas in the head and by quickly curing migraine, gives us the power to lead a normal life again.
